We participate in band trips both within Canada and as far away as New York, Cuba, and Austria. We regularly host guest artists, including cast members from Stomp, Cuban musicians, Aboriginal musicians and Inuit Throat Singers, instrumentalists, conductors, composers and jazz musicians.
We have performed on stage with the National Arts Centre Orchestra, at the Juno Awards, performed onstage with Johnny Reid, and at Pearson Airport as the Giant Pandas arrived from China. We have competed at our regional and national music festivals, bringing home both Gold and Silver Standings. Most recently, we won a national competition where we were named Canada's Greatest Music Class!
We offer a barrier-free music program that promotes leadership and access through the arts for all students, regardless of their previous musical experience.
